Help them understand their role and responsibilities; build skill; confidence and competence to manage and control risk and foster a healthy OH&S culture.If your business doesn't need a permanent resource but you need periodic expert advice on site or just a phone call away, we can set up arrangements to suit your needs and budget.
Risk Management
We can help with On-site Hazard Identification to build your risk profile. Risk assessment to determine the significance. Control Planning, recommendation of reasonably practicable control measures that are proportionate to the level of risk and to set up a schedule for regular monitoring and reviews.
We can complete specific Risk Assessments with you. e.g. Manual Handling & Machine Risk Assessments or Workstation Assessments.
H&S Management System Setup/Review
Collaborate with you to develop or review your management system ensuring it is appropriate for the size or your organisation. We tailor make H&S policies and procedures that are meaningful to you.
We're happy to train you and your team on the new or revised system, after all there's no point in having a bunch of procedures that nobody knows about or follows. It's a bit like buying a treadmill, never using it and still expecting to get fit!
Our basic package for small business is priced from $900 + GST and includes:
- Site visit to assess your needs and complete hazard identification with you.
- Tailor made H&S Policy and relevant procedures e.g. hazard/ risk management, incident management, emergency response.
- Documented Hazard/ Risk register which details control measures and first aid needs assessment for significant risks. May also include supporting materials as relevant e.g. safety data sheets for chemicals.
- Induction pack to communicate and inform employees, contractors and visitors
- All procedures are reviewed with you to ensure it is meaningful and understood. We'll try to avoid the jargon and at the very least we'll explain it.
- Selected Health & Safety Scoop toolbox talks to get you and your team started
- 1-hour On-site training session to go through the system and/or help you induct your team.
- We'll schedule in your next review and let you know in advance so you can plan it in.
Strategy & Business Planning
We can help you analyse your data and build a strategy for the continuous improvement of your Health & Safety program. We will recommend key measures to build into your day to day metrics. You can then track and trend H&S performance alongside other business data.
Incident Investigation
When things go wrong, it's important to understand how and why it happened in order to learn and stop it happening again. We can complete simple problem solving or ICAM methodology as required, to establish root causes and systemic failures. We will make practical recommendations for you to implement and follow up.
Audit & Review
When your H&S system is up and running, you may choose to participate in the ACC Accredited Employers Programme (AEP) or the Workplace Safety Management Practices (WSMP). This is a good way to monitor the health of your system and there are discounts available if you meet the required standards.
We can help you audit and review your system using your own; the ACC WSMP or AEP audit tools and provide recommendations for on-going improvement.

Contractor Pre-Qualification Requirements
Persons Controlling a Business or Undertaking (PCBU's) have a shared duty of care when working together. Pre-Qualification is one way for businesses share and communicate the systems they have in place to manage Health and Safety and may be a requirement of some organisations before they are willing to work with a Contractor. We can help you prepare for pre-qualification assessments.
